We'll focus on how to make lightweight garments for women, looking at the techniques used in top-quality ready-to-wear pieces. We'll tackle cut-work organisation, garment assembly and handling methods which are crucial in saving time and raising standards.

This is an advanced level course is for those who have Intermediate level especially those that are self-taught, may also find it useful to attend to get expert tuition from our experienced tutors and learn sewing tips and tricks used by professionals.

SEWING COURSES LEVEL THREE (3)

This advanced sewing program is a master tailorintg courses that will demonstrate construction techniques for a variety of garment types culminating in the construction of a coat, jacket, wedding garments, etc for Individual learning (1 to 1) with flexible schedule of candidates’ arrangement (subject to availability).

The course is aimed for those who have more advanced sewing experience to include Learners want to upgrade their sewing skills to a more professional level as a Sewist. Dive deeper into developing your pressing skills, exploring time-saving sewing techniques and advancements and perfecting their pattern fitting abilities.

Classes consist of 36 hours of 12 session(s).

This class is designed to empower Learners with the ability to skillfully sew more high-quality outfits and quickly advance to the next level of sewing with ease. Learners will learn to apply these skills to the creation of personal items of apparel. In this course, Learners will be taught how to use a variety of methods such as IT technology/equipment to develop their skills for making clothes, flat pattern and advanced industrial techniques practices.

S3.1.3D - Advanced Interpret Block Pattern Making

This subject is offered 1 to 1 learning and incorporates a range of teaching and learning strategies including demonstrations, studio activities, hands-on making, and discussion. These are complemented by preparation activities including practical activities, discussions and observations about garment components and details.

Construction workshop involves working with industrial sewing and pressing machinery, and developing sample techniques for garment making. Patternmaking studio involves the application of specialist technical skills related to developing and completing patternmaking construction drafts and pattern exercises, including representing these through 1/3 scale pattern techniques. All workshop activities include sketching and documentation through note taking.

This course provides how to identify, select and use the appropriate tools and equipment for pattern making, select the appropriate block and develop a pattern.  And, the pattern making principles of dart manipulation to reflect specification requirements.   The Flat Pattern class teaches the advanced of industrial pattern drafting commencing with the basic top and bodice and the various techniques, details, variations, and the cutting techniques used for muslins and fabrics.  It includes different garment components - collars, pockets, and lapels. An approach to various techniques for creating various sleeves, sleeve shapes, skirt bodice, skirts, pants, and ensembles.

COURSE OBJECTIVE 
Learners will able

S3.1.2D - Develop Pattern and Sew Jacket & Bespoke Suits

In this class, Learners will be taught how to understand and create the jacket patterns to producing high-quality apparel, choose and handle jacket fabric, work with the right fusible interfacings and prepare your pattern pieces for efficient sewing. Using a traditional couture method that will focus on the specialist hand-stitching skills for constructing a tailored classic jacket. In addition, Learners will be teaching in apply the trims, buttons and pockets that are essential components of these jackets. The lesson will teach to adapt the sleeve pattern to allow for better placket placement. Skillfully set in sleeves with mattered vents and add structure with shoulder pads and sleeve heads. Sew your under collar, upper collar and jacket facings with confidence.

All the steps involved cutting and shaping the jacket sections, sewing princess seaming, setting the sleeve, adding the chain weight and creating the double buttonhole. Learn how to merge and finish your jacket lining with a centre-back ease pleat and jump hem for wonderful ease of movement. Finish your sewing work in professional high-quality with topstitching, perfectly spaced buttonholes and buttons, and smooth hems.

4.    Mastering the techniques of sewing a button-up collared

5.    Identify techniques sewn bottom and top include an 
      alteration to fit

S3.1.3D - Interpret Pattern and Embellish Bridal Couture Sewing

The bridal course will explore the specialist techniques to create contemporary gown wear and create a bodice pattern of design. By working from either a block pattern or a toile for a fitted bodice that refitting with a suitable fabric.  Develop gown skirt and dress patterns such as fishtail or bias cut and completing various toiles as well as to apply the different types of surface decoration such as lace, piping and bias frills as well as veils and petticoats.

The construction of the gown will provide a detail and samples that relate to interlined couture boned bodices with a draped overlay, netted skirts, concealed zips, hemlines and much more. Knowledge to control the dress has wrinkly bodices or droopy skirts. Learn how to choose the right fabric, work with lace, or problem solve tricky construction issues.

5.     Different types to apply Interlining, fastenings, seams, lining, and bonding.
6.     Sewing technique and bodice detail - lace and beaded fabrics.
7.     Develop integrated trains, veils and petticoats.

4.     Candidates are to have at least 3 GCE ‘N’ level credit in English and Mathematics 
5.     Or ES WSQ Workplace Literacy and Numeracy (WPLN) level 4 and above to be able to benefit from the course
